Dr. Lara Sylvester has over 10 years’ experience practicing companion animal medicine in the Quinte region and has a special interest in internal medicine and cancer treatment. She strives to make her patients and their parents comfortable in a caring atmosphere that places communication at the forefront. Lara encourages you to be a part of your pet’s healthcare team.
Dr. Sylvester attained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Trent University and Masters of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Toronto before attending the University of Pennsylvania where she attained her Veterinary Medicinis Doctoris (VMD) degree. When Dr. Sylvester is not directly caring for patients, she travels across the province giving lectures to veterinary teams and is involved with the Quality Assurance program at the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
Lara has been involved in teaching at college and university levels and served as the president of the Quinte District Veterinary Association. She was also awarded the Young Leaders Award from Trent University. At home, Dr. Sylvester enjoys running, scrapbooking and outdoor adventures with her family.
